Sonia Gashgarian

Clinic Owner | Registered Physiotherapist | Acupuncture Certification

Sonia Gashgarian is a registered physiotherapist who graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto. Prior to this she completed her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with Honours from the University of Waterloo. Sonia has completed courses in sports taping and basic kinesio-taping, as well as the McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy and Mulligan Concept. She also has her APTEI Acupuncture and Dry Needling Certification.

Through her participation in competitive sports, Sonia had surgery on both of her knees. As a result, she has a better understanding of the patient experience, and the rehabilitation process inspired an interest in physiotherapy as a profession. Sonia’s experience in hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, and private practice has allowed her to develop a well-rounded approach to treating a variety of conditions.

Sonia uses a variety of treatment techniques to help clients feel better and return to their regular activities as soon as possible. Her individualized treatments may include the following: education, joint mobilizations, exercise prescription, soft tissue release, trigger point release, taping, acupuncture and dry needling, cupping, and Gua Sha.

Yadi Gopalasingam

Registered Physiotherapist | MScPT, HBScKin

Yadi Gopalasingam is a registered physiotherapist who graduated with a Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Western University. Prior to this, Yadi completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at the University of Waterloo, while also obtaining a Psychology minor. Yadi has also completed his Level 1 Diploma of Manual Therapy with the Orthopaedic Division and has completed courses in acupuncture and dry needling.

Yadi’s passion for physiotherapy stems from his love of sports. At a young age, Yadi was very active, playing a variety of sports including basketball, baseball, soccer and floor hockey. He enjoys an active lifestyle and his mission is to empower his clients to improve their overall health and wellness through exercise. His experience in various settings, including critical care, transplant and stroke units has helped him create a patient-first approach to physiotherapy. His individualized treatment plans work around the patient and their short-term and long-term goals. He uses many treatment techniques including education, joint mobilizations, soft tissue release, trigger point release, exercise, acupuncture and dry needling, cupping, Gua Sha and taping.

In his spare time, Yadi enjoys watching hockey and basketball, supporting his Toronto teams, as well as playing tennis, basketball and working out.

Nirvan Maharjan

Registered Physiotherapist, BScPT

Nirvan holds a Bachelor degree in Physiotherapy and has worked in wide variety of clinical settings, both within and outside of Canada. He has experience working as the department head in the ICU of a burn unit as well as a post surgical and orthopaedic rehabilitation specialist. Nirvan also has extensive knowledge in the rehabilitation of neuromusculoskeletal injuries and has worked with a diverse population in order to adequately treat and address their needs.

Nirvan holds a strong belief in the idea that in order for his patients to achieve the optimal result, manual therapy and modalities should go hand in hand. As a practitioner who is constantly updating himself with evidence-based practice, patients are able to receive effective and reliable relief for their pain. Currently Nirvan is updating his professional skills by completing all McKenzie courses and plans to take more courses so that he can provide better treatment to his patients.

Nirvan not only possesses exceptional skills in physiotherapy and pain management; he also enjoys photography, most notably of nature and people. In his free time he is also an avid fitness enthusiast.

Julia joined the team in January 2019. She has several years of experience working in an administrative setting, both in physiotherapy/multidisciplinary clinics, as well as in other settings.
